I worked within the Custom Pooled screening team on complex pooled CRISPR screens for external clients.

I worked in the lab of Aidan Doherty to finalise work performed during my PhD.

I worked as a private Biology and Mathematics tutor with the company Tutorful. I have experience tutoring biology, chemistry and maths, from GSCE to undergraduate degree level.

I completed my placement year as a research intern with Dr Mohammad Nassar, in the Biomedical Science Dept. at the University of Sheffield. Our project characterised a new cell line, MED4.7.1, derived from the neuronal cells of an immortomouse, with the intention of further research into whether MED4.7.1 could replace harvested DRG neurons in the research into potential treatments for chronic neuropathic pain.

• I took part in the 2016 Study China Programme, sponsored by the British Government and the University of Manchester. • The program provided a unique opportunity to learn about Chinese culture, history and language.• Throughout the programme I interacted with Chinese students, academic staff, local families and Chinese businesses to gain insight into their life and work practises. • I also completed an intense Chinese language and history course, and obtained credits for my University transcript.• Upon my return to the UK, I independently took the HSK Level 1, the qualification required for further study and scholarship opportunities in China.

I took part in the Nuffield Foundation Science Bursary scheme, during which I spent a summer working for the Dept of Biomedical Science in Sheffield. The research project centred around using Ussing Chamber assays to record the ion transport levels of the epithelial cells in the presence of different potential therapeutic compounds.
