I am dedicated and enthusiastic about improving diversity and belonging in education, and ensuring all students get the learning experience they deserve. I have experience in a variety of education related roles including: President of the School of Geography and Environmental Science (SoGES) at University of Southampton 2022-23, after 2 years as course rep, representing students interests and feedback in meetings, considering wider impacts on students and supporting our student community. SoGES intern, 2022, creating an online student hub on MS SharePoint for student engagement in the school.Centre of Higher Education Practice Intern at University of Southampton, 2022, considering the full staff and student community at the university, in particular I have learnt a lot about equity, diversity and belonging in education and created resources to support staff in more inclusive practice. Geography Subject Benchmark Statement (SBS) Advisory Board member QAA, 2021-22, working online with a team of academic staff across the country to rewrite the Geography SBS, with increased focus on sustainability, skills and capabilities. Completed a Think Pacific Virtual Internship, 2021, created primary level resources for Fijian schools to use in lessons around traditional craft and PSHE discussions. Music school student helper, 2019-20, supported children between 7 and 14 in learning to play instruments in groups, reading music, as well as helping in the tuck shop, at the front desk and leading sessions with older students. Secondary school classroom maths support after completing my GCSEs, 2018, and supporting students through GCSE maths retakes, 2019.I have also taken part in additional events such as the Teach First STEM taster programme and the Education and Development Conference 2022.
