Ambato, Ecuador

I worked at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ambato as an English Language Assistant. My role here involved working closely with different classes as an Assistant to help improve English pronunciation at the university. I also took my own class within the university for which I was expected to plan and develop interesting lessons according to the curriculum, teach English Grammar structures and work on the basic skills (Reading, Writing and Listening).Outside of the classroom environment, I also provided additional speaking practice for the students who wanted it and helped with translation within the English language department.

Ies Sagasta, Logrono

At IES Sagasta, my role was to provide support to the teaching staff as an assistant. Throughout my placement I worked predominantly with students undertaking the International Baccalaureate (aged 16-18 yrs) and those on the English programme run by the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (15-16yrs). My responsibilities included planning and preparing interactive English classes the students and delivering these on a day to day basis. Although my role was principally that of a teaching assistant, I would also deliver full classes without supervision when required.Outside of the school, I also delivered private conversation classes to individuals and small groups. The age range for these classes varied tremendously, depending on demand, ranging from 4 yrs old to adults.
