To improve the efficiency of radiation testing at NASA which costs $7000 per hour, our team redesigned the chamber slides.I researched and selected bio-compatible materials (Polypropylene, Silicone, and Poreflon), instituted a living hinge system, created the chamber slide clip mechanism and gasket, and worked on a manufacturing process for more than 20 chamber slides.Our team's solution had minimal radiation interference, reduced time spent transferring the samples, maximized the number of samples that can be tested in a given time span, and reduced material cost.
