- Performed and trained new ophthalmic technicians in all roles and responsibilities described below- Roles included history taking, visual acuity measurement, tonometry (both TonoPen and Applanation), visual field testing (confrontational and machine), extraocular movement assessment, performing OCT scans and taking fundoscopic photos, fluorescein angiography, technician calls, providing education regarding any needed surgery and collecting consent, scribing and maintaining patient flow - Other responsibilities included assisting physicians during lasers treatments, intraocular injections, cryotherapy, and B-Scan ultrasonography. - Created an 80-page training manual for all future new hires, still used today, which provides education on common diagnoses, step by step instruction for all skills listed above, and how to maintain overall patient flow and satisfaction.
