Current- Prepare and dispense Fludeoxyglucose (FDG-18) into syringes for each patient according to physician orders and calibration time.- Packing FDG-18 syringe doses into PET pigs, and into lead containers while practicing ALARA to avoid radiation exposure.- Practicing ALARA by using the three protective measures: time, distance, and shielding.- Adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines set by Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). i.e wearing radiation ring and body badge dosimeters.- Practicing proper garbing techniques to enter the sterile buffer room.- Practicing USP 797 standards to clean and sterilize the hot cell, passthrough chambers, and buffer room.* FDG-18 doses are injected, and used to help diagnose cancer, heart disease, and epilepsy via PET scans.
