A 9-year Starbucks Partner (employee), who started as a Barista in 2014, and currently serves asSenior Sustainability Strategy Manager for the Global Channel Development Business Unit since November 2021. In this role Becca advises Channel Development Senior Leadership Team on sustainability and social impact issues. She Is responsible for the BUs annual emissions measurement process, orchestrating the BU's multi-year sustainability and emissions reduction roadmap, the BUs human rights strategy, and for coordinating strategy and best practice across regions, cross functional teams and 6 global partnerships that distribute and manufacture the Starbucks Brand. Becca brings passion and technical expertise and aims to accelerate and scale sustainability efforts across the food and beverage retail industry. Becca has had several roles at Starbucks. Prior to her current role she was the project manager for thePaper, Plastic, and Sustainable Packaging New Product Introduction Team. She was responsible for implementing sustainable packaging solutions to meet U.S., Canada, and Latin American legislation, in addition to launching promotional packaging like the Holiday paper and plastic suite, color changing cups, ADA straw, and strawless lids. She also served as the co-director of events for and internal employee group, Partners for Sustainability. Becca and her co-director hosted 45 events over 2 years attend by over 10k Starbucks Partners. Hallmark events featured former VP Al Gore, former Co-Chair for the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council Peggy Shepard, President of Earthjustice Abigail Dillen, Co-editor of All We Can Save Dr. Katharine Wilkinson, and CEO of Bloc Power and former White House Champion of Change Donnel Baird.Becca graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in International Studies and the Harvard Extension School with a Masters in the field of Sustainability. When she is not at work, Becca spends her time sailing, kayaking, camping, and or hiking in the Summer and Fall, and eagerly awaiting ski season.
