Provide leadership, personnel management, grant and contract management and organization development for five programs including a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Job and Career Center, Veteran Services, Homeless Services, a Transitional Living Center and a Homeless Management Information System that serves community based organizations in addition to the agency

Worked with the executive team and the Board of Directors to provide organizational leadership for an affordable housing and service provider. Responsible for personnel management and recruiting, strategic planning, policy and procedures, financial management, budgeting and reporting, technology, public relations, and overall operations. Led three departments within the organization: Supportive and Adult Services; Children Services; and Resource Development. Worked with an outside consultant to conduct the first impact evaluation of the Children Services department to measure the effectiveness and customer satisfaction with the program. Brought forward the concept and design for the production of a book titled: 35 Stories; a collection of stories from Many Mansions in honor of its 35 year anniversary. Worked with the resource development team to conduct public relations, outreach and fundraising through grant proposals, individual giving and special events. Revitalized an annual fundraising event titled: Bowls of Hope, producing the highest revenue in 10 years. Provided supervision, support and annual performance evaluation for team members to identify and maximize strengths, to promote professional development and to implement performance improvement plans for any identified challenges or areas in need of correction. Monitored program performance to ensure quality and compliance with regulations and grant funding requirements. Monitored funding expenditures according to budget projections and requirements

• Facilitated leadership training and organizational development events for behavioral health teams to improve performance and outcomes.• Implemented innovative approaches to ensuring the fulfillment of all mandatory compliance and core competency training. Spearheaded a process improvement project to expedite the fulfillment of all training requirements. Cut annual training time in half and increased the overall compliance rate by 25%. • Initiated, negotiated, and implemented interagency relationships and vendor contracts. Established and refined measurable performance objectives for contract agreements. • Partnered with Ventura County Community College District to develop three new credit courses in public mental health to meet the needs of the system of care.

• Led a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of burn survivors and promoting burn prevention. • Collaborated with the Executive Board of Directors to develop and implement a 5-year strategic plan for growth and enhanced program evaluation.• Supervised a team of staff and hundreds of volunteers working in three different geographic regions of California. Increased staffing capacity by 45%. Negotiated new lease agreements and secured improved physical office environments in San Francisco, Fresno and Burbank.• Raised funds to support budget of $1million through the support of a large base of individual donors, fundraising events, and grant proposals. Increased Revenue by 30% in 2005. Secured first federal funding to support burn and fire prevention education.

• Provided executive leadership for a national coalition of over 100 organizations to increase civic engagement and voter participation. Led strategic planning, program implementation, budget and staffing for the national office and nationwide field sites. • Wrote funding proposals and maintained contract compliance relationships with private foundations and corporate donors. • Working within a Learning Organization model, served in a series of professional positions with progressively increasing levels responsibility from 1992 through 2001. As Associate Executive Director (1998-2001), supervised a team of operations managers and directors responsible for 175 staff in nine locations throughout San Diego. • Procured $9 million of the annual agency budget through extensive public grant proposals and monitored and enforced contract compliance to secure the renewal of over 40 grants.• Staffed the Board of Directors’ Program Evaluation and Executive committees. • Facilitated an agency-wide Vision Day, building consensus on a five-year strategic plan for the agency. Participated in the evaluation and revision of agency website and media plan.
