I love communicating with people. Learning people: their enneagram numbers, their goals, their senses of humor, their least favorite foods. What I don’t love: selling myself. So, here are some things about me, starting with the good ‘ole boys club, the FFA, and working our way towards the present: 1. When I was in high school, I joined the FFA because I heard that you could raise a cow for a project. Little did I know that it would also spark my love of editing and communications… Cows!? Communications!? Say no more! That year, with a team of girls alongside me, we created an agriculture communications plan to help fundraise for our high school’s FFA. We wanted to teach the community that agriculture is important while raising awareness for our local chapter. We got invited to pitch this specific communications plan at the State Convention that year. We took home the gold, and then got invited to pitch this same plan at the National Convention in Indianapolis. We placed high nationally, and I won a silver medal for my editing skills. Oh! I also raised a Holstein cow named Turbo that year. Win, win.2. In college, I created social media campaigns for Dollywood, hoping to catch the attention of the students at the University of Tennessee and get them excited to visit Dollywood. I also created a public relations campaign for Visit Knoxville, our local visitor’s center, working with different places to showcase the beauty of the city away from the university. 3. I also had two significant internships during my time at the University of Tennessee. I wrote for a website called CollegeFashionista. Each week for 3 years, I curated a lookbook of photographs of a different student on campus that showed a significant personal style. I would interview the student, then write an article for the CF website. During my final semester at the University of Tennessee, I accepted an internship at the Helen Ross McNabb Center, a not-for-profit organization local to the Knoxville area. I assisted the Community Manager in writing press releases, creating other media, and acquiring donations for their annual fundraiser. 4. I am a coach by all means of the word. Whether it’s coaching competitive girls gymnastics, leading older women in a water aerobics class, or developing experiential fitness classes within the realm of functional movement, I am your girl. 5. I am bilingual, speaking English (my native language) and Italian.6. All of this to say: communication is my passion, regardless of the field of work or area of expertise.
