I passionately support and promote innovative and outcome focussed research. I work closely with a diverse team to engage with, build trusted relationships and deliver industry and end user-required and adopted scientific outputs.In my own research, I am a collaborative, multidisciplinary and outcome focused researcher, with a focus for improving the sustainability of local, regional, national and international food production systems through development and implementation of novel tools for informed crop management. I achieve this working alongside collaborative researchers, growers, breeders and other industry representatives. Through alignment with relevant industry sectors, I secure funding from ARC, R&D Corps, Grains and Horticulture Industries and private enterprise. I am also passionate about postdoctoral and postgraduate training. I consider myself to be a empathetic and authentic team leader who is fortunate to work with many gifted scientists. Specifically, I develop and implement novel tools for selective breeding to improve the sustainability of plant-derived food production systems through mitigation of biotic and abiotic factors that impact yield and quality. I am a member of the Food Futures platform within the Centre for Planetary Health and Food Security. I am a strong advocate for women in science, particularly in their progression to senior career levels.
