Employed at an urban community health center based urgent care-primary care setting as a clinician of 12 years serving low income families and individuals who are under or uninsured. History of clinical precepting APP students and as an associate professor faculty member for a local accredited PA program. Taught physical examination, professionalism, clinical skills courses, and medical interpretation workshops. Medically and conversationally fluent Spanish speaker. Experienced in various procedures including wound closures, I&D, ingrown toenail removal, pelvic exams, bartholin gland cyst drainage, IV placement, and basics of IUD and implantable contraceptive insertion and removal. History and physical exam, ordering and interpreting tests and imaging studies, plan formation, follow up arrangements, and prescription of appropriate medication and or treatments. Utilize clear, direct, and positive communication with team members, fostering a calm, efficient, and professional environment in fast paced setting. Maintain both excellent bed-side manner and evidence based medicine throughout cultural, religious, socioecomonic status. Strives to meet the patient’s unique needs within the constraints of insurance status, health literacy, and transportation realities.
