Leader of editorial and book production for approximately 250 children's books per year, focusing on editorial quality and consistency as well as brand development for our imprints: Creative Education, Amicus, Amicus Ink, and Black Rabbit Books. Directly supervise editorial staff, maintain book budgets and production schedules, and ensure on-time delivery of print books and ebooks. Lead team in providing consistent metadata and share book information with our internal teams, supporting sales and marketing by sharing knowledge of our titles.

As Associate Publisher, my duties fall into several main areas while supervising a great team of in-house and freelance authors, editors, photo researchers and designers, leading them to deliver books on time each year. Acquisitions and List Planning: Solicit and review authors' manuscripts and illustrator portfolios to develop new books for our retail line of picture books and board books. Plan lists for our school/library imprints based on market research and input from our sales team.Editorial Direction: Create series guidelines, hire authors, and develop manuscripts for nonfiction children's books, with engaging writing, factual accuracy, and appropriate reading levels.Art Direction:Suggest illustrations and photographs to enhance the writing in our books, approve selection of photographs, and review and approve commissioned illustrations for our books. Review and approve all book layouts before printing to ensure they meet our design standards.Marketing: Concept ads, manage our email marketing program, direct our social media presence, ensure accuracy and timely delivery of marketing materials such as advanced sales sheets and catalogs to support our sales efforts.

Directed new imprint development for Bullfrog Books, the launch imprint of Jump!, Inc. Worked with authors, editors, designers, and marketing staff to create a successful brand of low-level nonfiction for kindergarten readers.

Oversee all editorial operations for 100+ children's books per year, including new imprint development, list planning, and editing, as well as supervising employees and freelancers and managing production schedules.

Responsible for maintaining quality and deadlines for 50+ children'sbooks per 6-month season, supervising five to seven people, andpersonally editing a few books per season.
