Just a small town girl living in a competitive professional world.Born and raised in a close-knit neighborhood in Northern California, I have come to appreciate the meaning of community. My passion for bringing people together dates back to childhood -- picture a three foot tall, toe-headed munchkin waving to everyone at the grocery store, grabbing items off of shelves and 'gifting' them to strangers.Right out of high school, I was overjoyed to land a retail job at a local hardware store called Orchard Supply. They stuck me by the front door and had me greet each and every customer as they walked in. I loved it! I was dubbed the Orchard Elf, store mascot, due to my cheery demeanor, petite stature, and emblematic platinum blonde hair. I was also commended for having a natural talent in customer service. Disgruntled customers would leave in a good mood, and often requested me by name for service thereafter.In December of 2017, I moved on to work in the insurance industry, with a new Farmers agency owned and operated by a wonderful woman by the name of Melanie Vincent. I took pride in my work, as I was providing my clients with invaluable protection for their homes and treasured belongings. I was delighted to serve my community through the hardships we faced, including the devastating Carr Fire, Camp Fire, and Snowmageddon that collectively brought the Northstate to its knees in 2018 and 2019. In March of 2020, I joined the team at Registration Express, a privately owned DMV service. I trained exclusively with the owner, Kathy Bowlsby, for several weeks in preparation. However, due to the issuing agencies being closed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to obtain the certifications necessary for my work, and my employment there fell through in the first round of lay-offs. After taking a few months off to focus on my education (and rebuild a 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport), I rejoined the workforce and became an Administrative Specialist for AccentCare Home Health. I now fill the role of Office Coordinator, acting as the Human Resources and Payroll representative (and more) for the office.As an auspicious young adult with a shiny new degree, I can't help but wonder how I can utilize my education in Business Administration to its fullest potential in terms of serving my town, state, and country. I aspire to become an asset to a company with a good reputation and cause. I want nothing more than to improve the lives of those around me and contribute to a better economy, environment, and community through meaningful work.
