Established and led the Research function and team in its first two years. Partnered closely with c-suite, product, and marketing teams, using research to inform business strategy & product direction, illuminate growth opportunities, and define how to create the best possible experience for our members. Grew and managed a small team of fulfilled researchers.

Led research efforts & teams in a few areas across Airbnb, including the Trip Platform team (search, reservations, trip planning, knowledge graph integration), Growth (customer lifecycles & engagement, social sharing, SEO, incentives, etc.), and a strategic future-focused research studio. Deployed quant & qual methodologies to inform strategy. Key growth research project identified a pervasive customer accounting issue that drove millions in savings once addressed.

Conducted research across multiple areas of Facebook's Search product team. Research I conducted contributed toward major, positive product redesigns. Also led search internationalization research and impacted the global rollout strategy for a major redesign.Additionally served as survey sampling and design reviewer, rotational research associate program mentor, and quant methods office hours volunteer.

I conducted research alongside FB and academic researchers on an NSF-funded project to better understand ad-hoc collaboration on social network sites, involving post-detection algorithm development and publication.
