Baltimore Green Works is a non-profit that engages the community and supports environmental efforts that better the quality of life in Baltimore. Our signature events include the Sustainable Speaker Series in partnership with the Enoch Pratt Free Library; the EcoBall, a fundraiser that celebrates the harvest of local farms; and the EcoFest that connects community members with environmental organizations, eco-minded local businesses, and artists, all in a fun festival atmosphere complete with live music and great food. EcoFest is only the kick-off to Baltimore Green Week, a jam-packed week of environmental programming from Baltimore Green Works and our many community partners. I am currently developing the latest addition to this suite of programs, Clean Water Kids. This is a 4-unit interactive, educational program that addresses watershed health and community environmental responsibility for children in grades 2-4. In managing these programs, I regularly collaborate and build partnerships with multiple stakeholder groups including, local business owners, city government, non-profit organizations, and community representatives. I also plan and and manage logistics for a variety of events, meetings, and programs for Baltimore Green Works and our partners. I prepare program budgets and engage in fundraising efforts including sponsorship and private funding requests and grant proposals and manage program action plans and monitoring & evaluation. In this position, I develop and implement traditional and social media for marketing, fundraising, and outreach initiatives.
Conservation And Research Coordinator
Managed all ex-situ and in-situ research and conservation program involvement in accordance with all federal and state regulations (e.g. USDA, USFWS, etc.) and AZA-accreditation standards. Chaired the zoo’s Research Committee and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to ensure approval process and activities complied with regulations and supported the zoo’s mission and priorities.
