Programme Manager of a 6 year, £32.6 million DFID-funded skills development and youth employment programme in northern Nigeria reaching 68,000 marginalised young people across 4 states by 2021. Responsible for programme management functions including: human resources, procurement, logistics, client engagement, finance, forecasting, technical support, risk assessment, continuous improvement, and corporate liaison:• Oversight of key milestone delivery for core technical components including institutional TVET redesign, skills development centres, informal sector apprenticeship training, and local economic development, with cross-cutting and supportive interventions, namely MRM, gender, research and continuous political economy assessment.• Led on procurement and troubleshooting of £4million worth of tools and equipment for TVET centres established by the programme across 4 states.• Line management responsibility in areas of finance, procurement and state co-ordination.• Established a transparent recruitment process and managed the recruitment of 14 scale-up team members in northern Nigeria covering skills such as logistics, procurement, curriculum development, operations and MSE development.• Supported monthly, quarterly and annual financial forecasting and work planning processes across intervention units, managing queries from the client and ensuring intervention units deliver within budget, whilst also seeking to achieve VfM and increased efficiency as the programme scales-up.• Attended regular check-in meetings with DFID to update on programme achievements and discuss strategy, finance, VfM and scale-up.• Updated programme risk registers on a monthly basis, taking into account political, economic, environmental and security risks.• In addition to my core programme management role, I support business development opportunities with an emphasis on how ICT4D solutions can be incorporated to support programme delivery.Twitter: @MAFITAProject
