Multiple term appointments Performing conservation treatments centered around conservation stitching; cutting, framing, and carving, as well as rehousing, surface cleaning, and photographing artifacts; assisting with cleaning a wide range of textiles; overseeing and performing construction of costume-mounting systems.

Managing the care and use of the Framingham History Center (FHC) collections in order to preserve it for research, education, and exhibition; overseeing the physical care of the FHC’s permanent collections; processing collections records and making recommendations regarding the status of items in the FHC’s permanent collection; recommending items for accession and deaccession to the Curator and the Collections Committee; assessing, categorizing, and labeling collections; processing collections into database; working with Curator to refine records management and oversees ongoing efforts; planning, executing, directing and participating in work involving the daily care, display, conservation, and safety of the FHC’s permanent collection; overseeing the stabilization of the permanent collection for long-term preservation and housing in a proper storage environment; conducting and documenting regular monitoring of collections areas and collections storage environments for moisture, pests, and other potential issues and acting to reduce or eliminate them; working with Curator and Director to keep the collections documents up to date as needed; assisting in creation of exhibits and displays; and supervising and training interns and volunteers working in the collections.

Collections Intern at the Collection of Historic and Scientific Instruments at Harvard University. Duties included entering data into TMS database software (over 700 object records updated as of 2/1/19); handling collection objects in accordance with proper museum collections care standards; verifying measurements of collection objects; fabricating trays and boxes of object storage.

Cataloging a collection of items housed at the museum’s off-site storage space; assisting the Project Archivist to arrange and describe the Museum’s archival holdings; helping to rearrange storage spaces to better accommodate collections materials; receiving training in object handling, re-housing artifacts, and Past Perfect collections management database; and making order out of chaos in sometimes dusty and cluttered conditions.

3-month term position. Duties included conducting individual timing and tracking of visitors and helping with logistics for focus groups for prototype exhibition; survey collection for various existing exhibitions; coding, data entry, and analysis of sketches acquired from a closed exhibition.

5-month volunteer term position in the Contemporary Art Department. Duties included gathering and formatting contact information for the Contemporary Art Department; organizing materials submitted to the Department; supporting Department Coordinator’s administrative duties; organizing files.
