I am part of the Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS) team. I am involved in various projects with this community and voluntary sector organisation. This includes organising Coproduction Corners ,which is a safe space to learn about coproduction methods and develop our skills. I am involved with the Southampton Health and Care Alliance and connect with other SVS networks such as the Green Network. I also work to promote inclusion, with specific knowledge around neurodiversity inclusion, as I have lived experience of neurodiversity, specifically autism and functional neurological disorder.I previously worked with Healthwatch Southampton at SVS, giving a voice to the public about local health and social care services. I am passionate about communities working together and influencing change from the bottom up. I organise events for a Southampton network of grassroots activists and community orientated individuals called Dangerous Ideas. We share ideas and take steps towards a more sustainable and fair society, as well as exploring creativity and cooperation in the city. I have been part of Tiger Yard, a Pop Up shop and community art space in East Street, Southampton which opened in December 2014 and September-December 2015.Prior to these roles, I have been involved in many other Southampton- based community activities:* setting up a neighbourhood Buying Group to help support ethical purchasing;* setting up a Fairer Christmas campaign, including a Fair Trade Pop Up Shop in Southampton;* working with Southampton Fair Traders and "Fair trade for Shirley" to help promote more globally responsible trading.* working with Friends of St James' Park on its £1.5million transformation, setting up a new social enterprise Cafe/Community Room and securing funding to widen participation;* being the founder of a summer play scheme which attracts hundreds of families every year;* establishing new baby groups with NCT, SureStart and the Warren Centre; and* actively and successfully campaigning for a new sports and education facility (ex Civil Service Sports Ground) with Friends of the Field.

The Caravan Gallery came to Southampton in Autumn 2016. Their Extra{ordinary} Photographs of Britain touring exhibition visited Solent Showcase gallery. The Southampton Pride of Place Project transformed a empty shop in the city into a participatory pop-up exhibition-cum-alternative visitor information centre. And the Southampton Caravan Gallery Tour took their iconic mobile gallery to various venues across the city. My role was to support Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale as the local coordinator for Southampton, encouraging people to get involved in the project in many different ways. www.thecaravangallery.photography/ourwork

Working as part of the team to promote and support the development of social enterprise and cooperatives within the Solent and Wessex local area.

Part of a collaborative team that set up this Pop Up community shop and art space, in order to offer local arts and crafts, fair trade and goods for free within a central city shopping street. Bringing an empty shop back into use.

A range of roles within this community organisation, helping it in its transition from a voluntary organisation to become the founder of ParkLife Community Interest Company running a cafe/community room and employment of its first community development worker.

This was my first experience of working in the Voluntary and Community sector, working on rural policy and mixing with colleagues who are passionate about improving communities and people's lives.

In the planning policy team, including preparing and giving evidence for the Local Plan Inquiry.

This was my first job, working on large-scale housing, retail, waste-water and renewable energy projects, promoting them through the planning system. This company is a highly-regarded planning consultancy and taught me that to get the best results, you have to be thorough, and treat the community's concerns seriously and with respect. I also realised that my passion is with the way people USE places, and not places for their own sake.
