My main duties include:• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments with children, young people and their families in a variety of setting and situations •Working with young people with a variety of presenting difficulties such as anxiety, suicidal ideation, depression, gender dysphoria, autism, learning difficulties, EBPD.•Providing duty professional cover on a weekly basis - conducting risk assessments of young people presenting at hospital, providing front line cover for telephone calls and reviewing referrals into the service for appropriateness.•Managing a clinical caseload, comprising of assessments and ongoing direct therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their parents/ carers. •Taking a lead on devising and delivering training to various other professionals (such as police, ambulance staff, GPs etc) on a multitude of mental health topics such as self-injury, anxiety, depression. Including devising and delivering level 3 safeguarding training around young people who self-injure..Facilitating DBT groups and parenting groups (Youth Connect 5 training). •Devising and facilitating the service's participation group to ensure that service user's voices are heard throughout the service - and indeed, the local area. Project managing associated projects such as events, marketing projects and community initiatives.•Maintaining a high standard of record keeping and reports.•Mentoring student nurses and new members of staff, where appropriate.•Representing the service at locality wide meetings and steering groups.

MST is an evidence based intervention, working intensively with young people aged 11-17 and aims to break the cycle of crime and anti-social behaviour by finding the drivers of the behaviours and helping the young person and family to find solutions to improve their situation.- One of 4 therapists for the first MST team in Cheshire. -Providing multisystemic therapy to young people and families experiencing significant anti-social behaviour and at risk of care or custody.- Carrying out thorough and detailed behavioural and systemic assessments.- Developing therapeutic interventions (using aspects of CBT, family therapy, solution focussed therapy etc) in adherence to the MST analytical model. -Working with the parents/caregivers of the young people to implement behavioural and practical plans for understanding, managing and changing risky behaviours such as offending, substance abuse, physical aggression, truancy, self harm and many more.-Providing 24hour on call support to families in times of crisis.-Carrying out risk assessments of young people, parents and home environments.-Working within a Multi-agency setting, ensuring collaboration from all agencies and holding regular review meetings to ensure all parties are informed.-Writing treatment summaries, detailed reports and carrying out PowerPoint presentations to other professionals and service users.

I worked in the Crime Prevention and Inclusion service in Chester. -Providing emotional and practical support to young people aged 7 - 15 who are at risk of truancy, offending behaviour, risk taking behaviour etc. on a 1-2-1 and group basis.-Devising and implementing targeted interventions to address issues with mental health, relationships, offending, drugs, family support and much more.-Writing funding bids for the team and organising successful fundraising events (achieving my 12 month fundraising goal within 6months).-Writing media articles, sourcing and taking part in radio interviews to promote the service.-Taking on the role of lead professional when carrying out Common Assessment Framework assessments and meetings.-Establishing new working relationships within Multi-agency environment.- I also devised a mental health awareness programme for schools- concentrating on self-harm and suicide prevention and education- from idea to programme development and marketing.

-Responsible for several classes of 16-18 year olds who were NEET, supporting them back into education, employment or training. - Responsible for devising and delivering own lesson plans to meet NOCN criteria on a variety of topics designed to inspire the young people. - During this time I completed my PTLLS level 4 training which included writing lesson plans, delivering effective lessons and effective classroom management. -Providing training in manual handling, equal opportunities, safety at work and interview techniques.-Keeping up to date assessments and learner trackers for each young person.-Ensuring all teaching was inclusive and met every learner's needs as all classes were mixed ability.
