I represent employers on sophisticated issues including PTD and VSSR claims, by defending employers at the administrative, Ohio state court and mandamus levels. I assist employers in claims brought by employees such as discrimination, unemployment compensation and retaliation. I routinely advise my clients on the complicated intersection of workers' compensation, accommodation and leave of absence issues. I have significant expertise in rating issues and I have argued on behalf of employers with rating, employee classification, and premium issues before the Bureau of Workers Compensation Adjudicating Committee and Self-Insured Review Panel. I focus on successor liability and independent contractor issues. In my advisory capacity, I prevent litigation by counseling employers on policies, procedures, employee discipline, safety investigations, wage issues, unemployment compensation claims, hiring and termination practices, severance agreements and non-competition agreements. My approach is to be proactive to save businesses money in their operations.
