Research and development toward active optical cabling solutions. Tested high speed performance of the electrical and optical signals of our Thunderbolt active optical cable. Providing manufacturing solutions for final cable assembly tests prior to shipment.

Researched opportunities for Corning in active optical cables for the consumer market. Maintained presence in the HDMI forum for the next generation of HDMI. Established a high speed lab bench capable of testing up to 32 Gbps. Performed high speed testing of optoelectronic modules for use in active optical cables.

Optoelectronic device research. Specifically researching the physical properties of Ge/SiGe Quantum Wells for use in optoelectronic devices such as modulators, switches, detectors, etc.

Private tutoring for elementary, middle, high school and college students in the areas of math and science.

Manage general activity for the Stanford Optical Society (aka Stanford OSA/SPIE Student Chapter) including outreach events, speaker seminars, social gatherings and much more. Events thus far this year have included EDay (Educator's Day), an outreach event for high school teachers in the local area to learn about optics and how to teach it in their classroom, as well as a number of speakers.We are also organizing the second annual Stanford University Photonics Retreat (SUPR 2010) after a resounding success in last years SUPR 2009.

Successfully organized a year of speaker programming at Stanford for the Stanford Optical Society (aka the Stanford OSA/SPIE Student Chapter). We got high profile speakers approximately every month from both industry and academia to speak to the optical community at Stanford. Jointly collaborated with the Stanford Photonics Research Center (SPRC) to coordinate invite-only lunches with special speakers and form the pioneers luncheons. Established the first annual Stanford University Photonics Retreat (SUPR 2009) in Monterey, CA with huge success.

Researched novel material structures for optoelectronic modulators. Assisted in testing of current modulators for successful completion of end-of-year goals. Presented my findings on the material of choice and gave future direction to the photonics technology lab. Received a final review of exceeds expectations.
