I am a people manager with almost 20 years of professional experience working in the not-for-profit sector with the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. In my roles I have managed recreational programs for children including camps, licensed before and after school programs, and have developed skills-based curriculum for under represented school communities. From forecasting and managing budgets to strategic planning and managing operations, to overseeing 40 site locations and a staff team of 150, I'm a creative problem-solver who can work with limited resources to maximize positive impact. I identify gaps and weaknesses within our current processes so we can streamline and implement more effective program delivery, resulting in a positive and meaningful experience for all program participants and their families. I take pride in ensuring that my staff teams are supported, working towards a common goal, and enjoy their working environment. In recognition of the contributions to my team and my work, I was presented with the annual 'Y Staff Service Award' which is voted on by peers to recognize long term commitment to the development and promotion of Y activities, and to acknowledge exceptional dedication and enthusiasm towards the delivery of Y programs.I'm passionate about supporting my community and advocating for resources that can support programs and initiatives that will positively influence the families within our region.
