I am a full service interior designer specializing in space planning and functional design. I work with homeowners and contractors to design personalized spaces from small remodels and additions to custom floorplans for new home construction.I provide drafting services, assistance with product and material selection, personal shopping for furniture and accessories, and staging at the completion of the project. If you are looking to sell your home I also offer consultations to help you get your home "for sale ready" (including recommended repairs, upgrades, and de-personalizing) and will offer advice on staging. Or if you are a Realtor, I can offer advice on staging occupied or vacant properties, or even create "virtual renderings" to showcase a property's potential.New in 2019... This is ideal for people outside of the Billings MT area, or anyone who wants to do most of the project themselves, but with professional guidance from me.I teach a class once a month as part of a lecture series at Imagine Studios, a local furniture store.

ToadNWillow is a high-end furniture and furnishings showroom that was also the residential branch of CTA, Inc.(an architecture and engineering firm). I worked as part of a very collaborative team of designers helping clients select home furnishings, from off the shelf decorative items and artwork, to full room makeovers incorporating custom furniture, soft goods (bedding and window treatments), artwork, and accessorizing at the final install. I assisted the store manager with creating showroom displays, merchandising new products, and maintaining our extensive library of vendor and source information. I also assisted in CTA's commercial interiors department with assembly of presentation boards, creation of furnishing binders, and sourcing FF&E packages.

I was the in-house designer for this newly formed company, where previously they had been contracting out their drafting and design work. I staged 2 homes for the local Parade of Homes event, and designed a third Parade home from scratch. I also furnished and faux painted an accent wall their model home, which also served as the company's sales office (and my office). I met with clients and walked them through the new home design and construction process. Many of the homes constructed during my time with Classic Design Homes were original designs created by me. I worked with the clients to select all interior and exterior finishes and custom millwork details. I requested bids from all subcontractors and vendors and placed all purchase orders. I prepared all construction documents and compiled all necessary materials to be approved for city building permits. I made frequent site visits to ensure that all plans were being followed by the contractor and subcontractors. Midway through the year I attended a 2 day intermediate level class to brush up my skills on Chief Architect 10.0 at their corporate training facility in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

I was the in-house designer for one of the first design-build construction companies in Billings. I participated in the initial in-home visit for clients wishing to remodel or add on to their existing homes. I assisted in conducting measurements of existing conditions and then drafting those using Chief Architect 9.0 (a software program which I had to teach myself during my first week on the job). I then created a proposed design based on the homeowner's requirements, and made revisions until the design was complete. I prepared all construction documents for our carpenters, and visited the site regularly to ensure that the design concept was being carried out accurately. I assisted clients with selection of all interior finishes and products, compiled all bids, and placed purchase orders. One basement remodel project that I worked on was published in the November 2005 issue of Yellowstone Valley Woman magazine.

While working for Ethan Allen, I worked with walk-in clients to our showroom. I assisted them with product selection and conducted in-home visits to suggest appropriate space planning and color choices. I worked with the showroom manager to create product displays, arrange furniture, and even faux paint a few walls to coordinate with upholstered pieces. I attended the annual salespersons' conference at Ethan Allen's corporate headquarters in Danbury, Connecticut where we learned about the furniture design process and got a sneak peek at upcoming new products, in addition to learning new sales techniques.
