I have worked in the optical industry at Specsavers since early 2018. Eager for ongoing development in the optics field, I graduated from RMIT in 2019 with a Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing. This course vastly developed my knowledge and skill, enabling me to perform my role as a senior team member dispensing specialist spectacle orders for a variety of eye conditions. As of mid 2019 I became my team's In-Store Trainer, learning many more skills and techniques to use amongst my colleagues, as well as in my personal life. I am continuing to learn more about optics, training, and myself, throughout my time at Specsavers. Prior to working in optics, I worked for a grocery retailer for 10 years. During this time, I worked in various roles expanding my abilities throughout the departments. These roles include: service supervisor for Front End/checkouts, cash officer in the Invoice Office, and assistant in the bakery. I gained many skills and built my knowledge and confidence guiding, supervising, and training my team on a day-to-day basis.
