As a project assistant for the Co-Director of Prevention and Control Research within the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research, I perform a variety of different roles for the center. My work falls into 3 broad categories: Academic & Research-Support the development and submission of conference abstracts and center-wide grants -Assist in the development of presentation slides for academic conferences and meetings 5-Conducted surveys for the HEAL project, an active transportation research grant done in collaboration with the city of Carson -Administer the R25 postdoctoral training program and the UCLA Healthy-By-Default REACH grant (maintain websites, contact grantees, coordinate and plan meetings) -Complete the Human Subjects IRB submissions for ongoing, closed and new studies Community-Maintain the websites for the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity and the Prevention Research Center -Assist in the organization of the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity's annual health disparities symposium, attended by over 400 people Administrative -Serve as the program administrator for the Co-Director of the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research (maintain schedule, arrange travel, update CV)

-Organized student support of the Asian American Studies minor at Wellesley College. Saw its establishment in February 2013. -Planned events for the organization (including: annual Asian American Studies lecture, 3-4 general member meetings per semester, 2 group volunteer trips, an annual Asian American Film festival, an Asian American Studies minor celebratory party) -Started new initiatives including an Asian American Studies historical archival project, a promotional video project on Asian American identity, and a Ruhlman student presentation on why Asian American Studies matters. -Conducted and publicized a student interest survey in an Asian American Studies minor at Wellesley College. Gathered and helped analyze over 250 responses.

-Resolved a wide variety of computer errors (ex: Malware, OS errors, software install errors, backing up data, connecting to the internet, installing printers, Google Drive, Word, Excel, converting files).-Researched solutions to computer errors that were not covered in training. This involved going quickly through Wellesley College's tech services documentation or third party websites (Microsoft, Apple, Cnet, Windows, etc.) in order to provide users with working answers in a timely fashion. -Developed customer service and phone skills by communicating with faculty, administration, and students over the phone and in person to troubleshoot their computer problems

Filmed and edited a 3 minute promotional video for a new Wellesley College writing class. Used Final Cut Pro to edit the video.

Documented in writing and photographs about my everyday experiences studying abroad in Kunming, China. Focused on my journey of identity as a Chinese American living abroad in China. Influenced by Andrea Louie's book Chineseness Across Borders.

Tutored children ages 4-17 in the areas of math and reading. Taught mathematical concepts up to the pre-calculus level and reading comprehension skills up to the high school level. Corrected worksheets and reviewed them with the students.
