- Raise funds to grow the organizations impact, staff, and capacity by engaging foundations, individual donors, and building a grassroots membership base. - Manage all aspects of Good Jobs Now’s base building and campaign work by supporting existing social justice campaigns and developing and launching Good Jobs Now campaigns focused on electoral organizing, organizing low-income workers and communities of color, and building long term power around economic justice issues. - Represent the organization on a variety of local and statewide c3 and c4 coalitions comprised of organized labor, faith based community, and grassroots and community organizations.

- Responsible for developing the vision for and providing strategic leadership over the organizations community engagement, volunteer engagement, public policy and advocacy efforts. - Design and implement organizational engagement strategies, issue campaigns and plans that align with Educational Preparedness, Basic Needs, and Financial Stability goals and objectives and develop metrics to measure progress. - Lead a full-time staff of 11 (including 5 direct reports), manage consultants, and oversee an annual departmental budget of $1.5 million+.- Develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including community and civic leaders, non-profit organizations, and Fortune 500 companies.

District 1 (Northeast Detroit, Harper Woods, Grosse Pointe Woods, Gp Shores)

- Challenged democratic incumbent in District 1, which encompassed Northeast Detroit, Harper Woods, Grosse Pointe Woods, and Grosse Pointe Shores and included 85,000+ constituents. - Developed aggressive grassroots campaign that engaged over 500 donors and 200 volunteers from across the country, raised over $60,000 and canvassed nearly 15,000 doors. - Race was named #1 most competitive house democratic primary in the state - Earned local, statewide, and national endorsements including the 14th Congressional Democrats, Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, EMILY’s List, Grosse Pointe Democratic Club, LaunchProgress PAC, People for the American Way Action Fund, PowerPAC +, Progressive Majority, UAW, Women’s Campaign Fund, and others.- Worked to build relationships with constituents, community leaders, business leaders, elected officials and key stakeholders across the 1st District.

- Developed annual budget (joint $2.1 million program in conjunction with the Young Elected Officials Network), assisted in establishing and raising revenue goals, developing proposals and reports to donors, and managing relationships with key donors and foundations. - Managed full-time staff of 5 (including 2 direct reports) and oversaw the planning, logistics and execution of annual YP4 National Summit and 8 regional trainings across the country each year. - Lead the design and implementation of leadership development programs including the YP4 Fellowship; a year-long fellowship for 150 college students on over 100 campuses in 29 states and the Front Line Leaders Academy (FLLA); an 8 month intensive training program for 20 Fellows across the country that trained them to become candidates for elected office and campaign professionals. Also provided support to the Young Elected Officials Network, which consisted of 700+ young electeds in all 50 states at every level of government under the age of 35.

- Created strategic partnerships with DC public schools, non-profit organizations, and government agencies to support the leadership development of youth in the District of Columbia.- Managed 50+ member youth council and provided policy, leadership, and professional development for members. - Established the DC Youth Advisory Council Summer Leadership Academy; a 9 week intensive leadership development program focusing on public policy, advocacy, etiquette, financial literacy, media training, and more.

- Developed annual grassroots legislative strategy around an aggressive action agenda including the Higher Education Act Reauthorization and the federal budget & appropriations process. - Worked with diverse coalitions that included organized labor, faith based, and community organizations to advocate on behalf of national social justice and progressive youth issues including education, civic engagement, leadership development, issue and electoral campaigns. - Lobbied Congress, tracked federal legislation, and worked with key stakeholders including the White House and Department of Education to make college more accessible and affordable for millions of students and their families - Created training and outreach materials in the form of toolkits, webinars, fact sheets, legislative updates and quarterly reports; facilitated workshops, presentations, and trainings for emerging social justice leaders across the country; recruited students to participate in USSA campaigns, and increase awareness of USSA.
