In this role, I was presented with significant challenges to move the business back into profitability and growth. I held an integral role during this time in streamlining processes and simplifying workflows for club teams. This was to protect day to day operations in this changing environment. With the loss of some operational roles from each club, I innovated critical new business efficiencies that were deployed into each site. A major aspect of this role was being Australian Project Manager for the global brand relaunch of Fitness First. This included innovating new business ideas around membership pricing, terms and conditions. Key tasks included business modelling, contract law and compliance. A separate and significant project was managing the refurbishment of all national sites. My role was to take strategic business initiatives and translate them into project plans to deploy throughout multiple sites across Australia. This involved research, engaging other team members, providing advice, creating business policies and procedures as well as defining and managing budgets. I was responsible for evaluating the success of a project at its completion through reports, surveys and further research. I also directly managed our Planning and Communications Co-ordinator on a day to day basis.Highlights and AchievementsBeing part of the first team to manage projects from conception to completion at Fitness First. I was responsible for managing the Fitness First North Sydney club. I had four Head of Departments which report to me as well as an Assistant Manager and 5 sales staff. I was ultimately responsible for the Profit and Loss of the club and supported and motivated my staff to achieve monthly and quarterly budgets. The role had a strong focus on sales, Customer Service and coaching of staff. Highlights and AchievementsWithin one month of assuming the role of Club General Manager, Fitness First at North Sydney achieved 107% of budget after not reaching budget for six months prior.EBITDA goal achieved all four quartersMost successful PT business in the country with 31 franchised Personal TrainersGraduated from the internal Club General Manager program in first place

After excelling in my first role at Fitness First (below), I was promoted to this role where I was a complaint management specialist, event manager, new club operational manager and responsible for various national operational initiatives. This included organizing “Get Active Sydney”, an event run by Fitness First to encourage child participation in sport and seeks to combat childhood obesity. I reported directly to the National Operations Manager and performed various administrative and operational duties.
