- Managed the primate research on eastern chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii), yellow baboons (Papio cynocephalus), and red-tailed monkeys (Cercopithecus ascanius).- Managed research on other taxa including trees, mushrooms, reptiles, butterflies, and various mammals. - Organised the fieldwork schedule and provided the field assistants with the correct research equipment. - Monitored and evaluated data collection protocols to maintain the accuracy, reliability and usefulness of the data collected (considering potential statistical analyses).- Developed the data collection protocols (qualitative and quantitative) of a new project on mushroom diversity and abundance.- Oversaw the deployment and maintenance of camera traps.- Cleaned and stored the data using Microsoft Excel, ODK Collect, and Garmin BaseCamp.- Designed and delivered training for new field assistants on field navigation, chimpanzee identification and behaviour, and behavioural etiquette around primates. I used a combination of PowerPoint presentations and field-based training.- Supervised the development of the field assistants’ personal research projects.- Assisted a veterinarian in performing a brain extraction and full-body necropsy on a deceased chimpanzee and was responsible for implementing the brain fixation protocols.- Coordinated ranger patrols in response to illegal poaching activity.- Gained experience in camp administration in the absence of the camp manager. Tasks included organising the food shopping and building work, and managing the camp finances.- Given the substantial workload, planning my tasks at the beginning of each day enabled me to effectively manage my time and prioritize tasks.

- Coordinated the Justice Project which aims to raise awareness and improve our understanding of brain injury.- Was responsible for producing Brain Injury Identity Cards and undertook tasks such as redesigning the application form, processing online and paper applications, and producing the identity cards.- Reviewed written and verbal feedback from applicants about the application system and the usefulness of their identity card.- Conversed with applicants about their brain injuries and the services provided by Headway.- Also worked as a Fundraising Assistant one day a week in the fundraising department (for six months at the beginning of this position). I was involved in both community and corporate fundraising and undertook tasks such as managing individual and corporate memberships, supporting fundraisers, and responding to enquiries about fundraising events.- Used programmes such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, and Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

- Lived and worked within a team of up to 19 people and was in the field six days a week, eight hours a day.- Collected data on two troops of free-ranging vervet monkeys (55 individuals; Chlorocebus pygerythrus).- Identified the monkeys by their faces and other body features.- Collected behavioural data (qualitative; included social, conflict and sexual behaviours) and spatial data (quantitative). - Collected faecal samples and prepared them for storage in the field lab. - Assisted in predator model presentations, and touchscreen and food box experiments. - Identified and recorded different vocalisations for bioacoustics projects and learned how to label and extract the recordings using Avisoft and Audacity.- Trained new research assistants on field navigation, monkey recognition, and data collection protocols.

Worked within the Biosciences department on three undergraduate open days to show prospective students around the department and discuss my personal experience of the Zoology BSc programme. I spoke about the modules I had undertaken, the field courses available in the programme, and my dissertation project/field research in Uganda.

Introduced young people from deprived areas to higher education through a range of events. These involved revision techniques, aspiration-raising activities, STEM activity days with science practicals (e.g. dissecting owl pellets), and campus tours.

During my university studies, I was a seasonal kennel assistant at the Green Lane Farm boarding kennels in Chessington. My role included looking after both the rescue and boarding dogs, maintaining records, and conversing with the clients about their pets.

- Spent two months over my summer break (between Year 2 and Year 3 of my BSc) collecting data for my undergraduate dissertation.- Carried out research on the Waibira community of free-ranging eastern chimpanzees.- Collected direct observation data for 10 hours per day on pant grunt vocalisations, antagonistic interactions, and copulation (ad libitum).
