For the best part of my growing up, I knew that I wanted to work with wildlife. However, it was not until I began my Zoology BSc that I realised my passion and strengths lie in conducting research and scientific dissemination. My greatest achievements during my degrees were (1) scoring 82% for my undergraduate research project, in which I explored the dominance hierarchy of free-ranging eastern chimpanzees (fieldwork in the Budongo Forest, Uganda), and (2) publishing my master’s research, which investigated the daily travel distances of chacma baboons, in an esteemed peer-reviewed journal; The International Journal of Primatology.Following my degrees, I took on the roles of Research Assistant at the iNkawu Vervet Project and Research Coordinator at the Greater Mahale Research and Conservation Project. These positions not only afforded me invaluable field experience in data collection, but also cultivated my aptitude for project management and team leadership. Additionally, my tenure as Project Coordinator at Headway, the brain injury association, enhanced my proficiency in written and verbal communication while providing me with the privilege of aiding individuals impacted by brain injuries.Outside of work, I enjoy wildlife photography and have set up my own Instagram blog (@AWildCause) to share my photos along with facts about the species featured. I also enjoy keeping active by attending weekly swimming and volleyball sessions.
