Worked with the CPA and a quantitative data analyst to produce a report that highlighted how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected workers to produce a Workers' Bill of Rights. Utilized Google Suite to analyze 1400 surveys, created pivot tables, and presented results to a Workers' Rights Coalition.

Worked with one other intern under the supervision of the Senior Policy Research Associate to create a landscape report that captures the unique challenges and successes of Home Visiting Programs in each of the 58 First 5 commissions across California. We used the Google Suite to conduct this qualitative research project consisting of scheduling and conducting key informant interviews, reviewing documents, developing databases to collect and organize data, and compiling reports for each commission as well as a summary of larger trends. This project worked to strengthen the network knowledge on the history and current state of F5 commission investments in home visiting to inform the First 5 Association and First 5 Center on network and policy strategy.

Developed and implemented systems to improve information management and program data tracking including rewriting the staff manual. Managed a team of 3 staff members and 8 peer health educators to provide Cooking Matters programming across Alameda County. Maintained relationships across county sites, stakeholders, and coalitions to increase access to healthy food in low income communities. Evaluated programming using surveys and feedback, produced reports using Qualtrics and the Salesforce database to share with partners and be used for grantwriting.

Directed Health and Wellness programming across 5 different school sites in the district, maintaining strong relationships with each site to provide the appropriate programming. Managed 1 staff member and a small group of volunteers. Planned family cooking night events, collaborated with staff at each site to design curriculum and activities relevant to each age group.

Taught and assisted with cooking lessons to elementary students 1st-6th grade with occasional family events. Developed cultural and age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum to educate about sugar consumption, healthy lifestyles, and garden education in afterschool programming. Piloted new curriculum focused on decreasing SSB consumption.

Served for a year with AmeriCorps VISTA program with 18 Reasons. Taught and coordinated 40+ 6-week long Cooking Matters classes to diverse populations in low-income communities in the Bay Area with ages ranging from children to seniors throughout the year.
