I loved this role as it brought together all things content and communications with my fascination for all things Russian. As well as overseeing all communications I managed the annual Pushkin House Book Prize celebrating the best non-fiction books about Russia.

Part of a small team of freelancers editing articles that were originally published in Russian by Carnegie experts, ensuring that they meet Western style and standards of journalism.

I oversaw the English language version of www.project1917.com and its social media platforms. Project1917 was a digital humanities project that provides an immersive, multimedia experience. Joined the editorial team producing the analysts’ daily Russia report and provided project support for annual investment research products.

Developed and raised awareness of the USAID-funded programme that provided training and support to regional newspapers around Russia and instigated the first Russia-wide Best Regional Newspaper awards. I wrote funding applications and donor reports as well as co-ordinating the work of the advisory panel.

Initiated, drove and developed the business feature pages of the newspaper, covering all aspects of business life in Russia, from real estate to personal finance, the financial markets to interviews with interesting business players.
