Managing client bookings for conferences taking place from start to finish, focusing on communication and organisation from initial enquiry all the way through to delivery.

Undertaking the role as assistant PA for such a high profile entrepreneur & philanthropist, was a fantastic opportunity. I learnt so much within such a short amount of time, not only about the role but about myself and what I was capable of. I am not able to give a description of my job role, as is such a varied job role and there was certainly no day the same.

My role as a Conference assistant included;- Working on large functions for up to 400 attendees- Working on conferences varying in delegate numbers- Carrying out the set-up of conference rooms- Attending to all delegates needs- Maintaining a high level of customer service

As a welcome host at Alton Towers I aim to deliver a high standard of customer service to guests so that they have the best start to their day as possible as I am a part of the welcome department and we are the first people guests come in contact with. My main roles include working as a car park attendant and turnstile operator both demanding roles with guest experience as the main focus.

I recently successfully secured a place and participated on the International College Program offered by the Walt Disney Company. I was placed as a Quick Service Food & Beverage team member within Outdoor Foods at the Epcot theme park. This was a fantastic opportunity that presented me with the ability to show continual growth both personally and professionally, including a wide variety of skills. I faced multiple challenges throughout my program; however being able to overcome these challenges displayed my determination, ability to negotiate and create solutions to overcome issues. The experience I gained working for one of the world’s leading companies in a fast-paced environment has been vital to my development, I now feel even more prepared to take on any task or challenge I am faced with throughout the remainder of my career.

I successfully completed a year work placement as an integrated part of my Events Management degree course. The Derby Conference Centre; a hotel, conference centre, function venue, gave me the opportunity to take on a role within the Operations department, Sales and Conference department and the Marketing department. By doing this I developed both my practical and personal skills, through the variety of tasks and responsibilities I was expected to undertake, from the successful running of proms and Christmas parties to redesigning the hotel’s bistro menu. My year at the Derby Conference Centre allowed me to put my knowledge of the events industry into practice.

As a waitress at Thornbury Hall I had to attend to customers’ needs when they first entered the restaurant to the moment they leave. I needed to deliver a high standard of customer service and interact with the customers to make sure that they had an enjoyable experience.
