● To achieve arrears and cash collection targets. Work with customers, Housing Officers, support teams, external support providers and other departments to prevent rent arrear debts from building up. ● Apply rent arrears escalation policies insuring excellent communication with housing officers and support providers and evidencing all actions. ● Use discretion to compile thorough referral applications to the Homeless Prevention Team to help vulnerable residents at risk of eviction. ● Arrange welfare benefit advice/debt counselling services as needed and setup repayment agreements. ● Where relevant make referrals to appropriate floating report services. Take legal action and attend county court as required.● Account Reconciliation.

● Responsible for managing the rental accounts of 700 properties. ● Maximised the rental income and reduce the arrears level for the organisation.● Liaised with external agencies and worked collaboratively with Housing Benefit and other welfare agencies. ● Worked effectively and followed the arrears procedure in a timely manner and took court action if necessary.● Priority was to support the tenant in maintaining their tenancy by home visits; repayment agreements and ensuring court proceedings were minimal.

● Responsible for ensuring that student indebtedness to the University was both correctly reported and minimised. ● To ensure accurate and correct recording of financial transactions in full compliance with legal and University requirements.● Provided timely and accurate information to students. ● Liaised with students in debt to the University. To assess and determine appropriate courses of action to assist Students whilst limiting the University's exposure to potential bad debt. ● Raising invoices and credit notes when discrepancies were found. ● Referring cases to external debt recovery agencies.

● Responsible for managing the Customer Rent Accounts for Leasehold, Shared Ownership and Market rented properties, ensuring that income is maximised. ● Managed the arrears and credits on the accounts in line with company policies and procedures by close liaison and in partnership with internal and external agencies. ● When court action is necessary I used PCOL (Possession Claims Online) and Money Claims Online and attended court and stay hearings. The role offered a challenging environment, working to targets. ● In 2009/10 my performance on my two Shared ownership patches showed reductions of £18,000 and £5,000 on the previous year. For Market Rented my patches were down £9,000 and £15,000. ● Responsible for managing the rent, support and contract accounts for supported housing. I managed the arrears and credits on the accounts and do this by close liaison and in partnership with the care and support teams, local authorities, benefit providers, other supporting partnerships and with the service users. ● Responsible for managing the revenue income for contract with the local authorities and health trust. ● I was successful in this role achieving 300% of target for the 2007/08 financial year. For the last 3 financial years I have been successful in ending the year well within target. 08/09 target of 4%, reduced to 0.87% arrears.
