I serve as an ecologist in support of various development projects, primarily transportation related. Project duties include:-conduct field assessments for Waters of the US, State Waters, protected terrestrial species, and protected species habitats-Writing ecology reports summarizing site conditions and known regulatory obligations-writing Pre-Construction Notifications for authorization to use USACE Nationwide or Regional Permits-Writing Stream Buffer Variance Applications-act as client reviewer for various project documents-communicate with client and agency representatives regarding project conditions-assist with training new staff as needed

I work on the Atlanta EcoSciences team, and primarily perform ecology field assessments and write associated reports for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Project types include: bridge replacements, roadway realignments, intersection improvements, and improvement/addition of pedestrian facilities along State Routes and US Highways.Project duties involve:- assessing habitat and land use areas- conducting protected species surveys for terrestrial species- assessing the potential for structures and habitat within the project area to support bats and migratory birds- delineating Waters of the US and State Waters in accordance withe the most up-to-date guidance- assessing project impacts on environmental resources- assist GDOT with coordinating with state and federal agencies (including USFWS, the Corps, Georgia EPD) in order to gain regulatory approval for project impacts. This includes coordinating agency site visits, writing PCN or SBV applications, among other duties.

I have completed numerous due diligence reports under various scopes including:-National Environmental Policy (NEPA) reporting for FCC regulated telecommunications sites in GA, AL, SC, NC, and TN (including Section 106 coordination, historic properties surveys under the direction of an architectural historian, protected species coodination and surveys, public participation, and tribal coordination)-Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA) reporting for Board of Regents and Technical College System of Georgia sites-Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) on telecommunications, retail, residential, and raw-land properties-Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Phase I ESAAdditionally, I have performed multiple stream and wetland delineations in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina in both the Eastern Mountains and Piedmont Region and the Coastal Plains Region and assist with report writing and client deliverables.In all of my project endeavors, I review publicly available information, coordinate with federal and local government agencies, tribes, and the public regarding proposed projects. I communicate with co-workers and client representatives to see that projects are completed as quickly and accurately as possible.For many of my projects, I served as the project manager. My responsibilities as project manager included schedule and budget management, client communication, writing task orders, assisting with proposal endeavors, invoicing, and coordinating senior review to ensure that reports met Terracon and client quality control - quality assurance standards. At times, I served as a PM for up to 30 projects of varying complexity while working on my own projects and reports in addition to acting as a team member for other PMs.

I am on a team that is responsible for inventorying and measuring trails on the Shawnee National Forest in Illinois and the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri.

I was a TA for BIOL 1520 lab (Organismal Biology) and BIOL 4740 (Biologically Inspired Design). I was responsible for preparing and presenting lab material for two BIO 1520 lab sessions each week, and coordinating material with my co-TA's. For both classes, I was responsible for grading papers, entering grades, and resolving grade disputes with students, co-TA's and the lead professor.

IPST is a division of Georgia Institute of Technology. While here, I worked in Pullman's lab helping to develop a system for the somatic embryogenesis of Fraser Fir (Abies fraserii). I was responsible for sterile media preparation and pouring, sterile tissue transfer, writing reports, and statistical analysis. While here, I served as a volunteer, was sponsored via the President's Undergraduate Research Award, and finally worked for course credit.

I worked as a summer camp counselor for youth age 14. I was responsible for planning activities for campers all summer long while ensuring the safety and security of campers. I was primarily responsible for maintaining the riflery range, providing instruction and a safe environment for children and youth aged 5-16. I was also responsible for providing discipline-specific instruction to other staff, counselors-in-training, and campers.

Interns were responsible for tracking tamarins in their outdoor exhibit along with light keeping duties (i.e. cleaning, food preparation). We were also responsible for communicating and educating visitors. Interns worked alongside other interns, zoo staff, and zoo volunteers.

I was an SCA intern at Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, VA. Natural resource Interns were responsible for identifying and treating areas of invasive plants and performing planned restoration efforts throughout the park with chemical and mechanical methods. We performed regular water quality assessments of streams and lakes within the park using E.coli monitoring and macroinvertebrate surveys. Also, I performed GPS surveys of flora and cultural resources using GPS and GIS technology and assisted USGS surveyors performing research in the park.

I worked as a summer camp counselor for Village (overnight resident campers) and Sparrowwood (children and adults with mild to moderate developmental disabilities) camps. I was responsible for planning activities for campers all week long while ensuring the safety and security of campers.
