Among planning for special events and various programming, two of the main initiatives this position coordinates includes Parks Rx and FIT in the Parks. > GB Parks Rx is a clinically-based effort helping to prevent and reduce obesity in youth and encourage healthy lifestyles through increased connections to parks and recreation.> FIT in the Parks is a health and wellness initiative brought to you by the Green Bay Parks and Recreation Department with a special thanks to their sponsors. Free fitness classes are held in various parks throughout the City during July-August.There are various special events that the department plans and executes throughout the year that I have been able to help coordinate and take part in. A few to include: Crazy Mud Mayhem, FIT Fest (Open Streets), Glow Zumba, Haunted Chase Race and Frenzy on the Fox.

The various tasks and responsibilities I held included data entry, organizing, researching, updating, creating, and filing for various department directors. The majority of my time was spent creating and implementing a conversion for public works and building inspection data into a digital management system.

Interning with the Village Manager ultimately provided me with a well-rounded grasp of working for a local government. I briefly reviewed and updated the municipal code as well as attended various meetings pertaining to economic development and the annual budget. The majority of my time was spent assisting the Village Clerk with voter registrations for the 2016 presidential election, as well as answered phone calls and questions from village residents.Additionally, I was asked to help complete a special project with the Village Community Development Director for the local business association expo event.
