Director of Library; Administer all library operations; capital planning; succession planning and personnel management. I have organized the first Keeneland Duplicate Book Sale to be held March 6-8, 2014. I created a workroom for archival supplies, preservation, Daily Racing Form prep and other projects requiring ample space for sorting and organizing. I instituted the intern program by utilizing UK Library Science students as semester-long interns. I worked with the Capital Projects Director to develop a digitization workflow for maps and architectural drawings. I chaired the Records Management Team and developed a model schedule for records retention at Keeneland. I managed an online conversion of the Library's catalog and selected Library World as the ILS and CatExpress as the cataloging tool. I negotiated for the purchase of the Thoroughbred Times collections and organized their move to Keeneland.

I am currently Chair of the Preservation and Reformatting Section of ALCTS in ALA. After the meeting in Las Vegas in June, 2014, I will serve as past-Chair. This has been a busy year with a lot of discussion about how to make the Midwinter meeting more relevant for PARS membership. We also are in the process of responding to ALA's Committee on Legislation's Federal Depository Library Program Task Force's (COL FDLP TF) recent report about the feasibility/need for a national preservation program for federal documents.

As Chair, I now have many ALCTS responsibilities as well as responsibilities for shepherding PARS committees, interest groups and working groups.As Chair Elect, my primary responsibility was to nominate PARS members to committees, working groups and awards juries. This was a great way to get to know all my PARS colleagues, especially some newcomers.

We reviewed the progress of the Cooperative Preservation Microfilming Projects (1990-2004) and the Preservation Field Services. We recommending new directions for educational programming and networked as a group.

I managed a team of 7 employees to prepare shipments of academic journals and books on a monthly basis to be sent to a commercial bindery in Indiana. This involved training, supervising, quality assessment and professional development. I attended the second ALCTS Binding Institute in Portland, Oregon to enhance my understanding of the physical and bibliographical aspects of commercial binding, a fundamental and standards-driven, essential function of library preservation.
