The Director of Operations, by applying leadership and best practice managerial approaches, creates a supportive, open, participatory, and results-oriented working environment for the CGVS. This in return supports its network of faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as collaborating partners and supporters, to ultimately deliver on the mission and strategic goals of the Center.- Develop and lead the implementation of new operational processes and infrastructure needed for the success of a young academic center and ensure compliance with the standards for JHU academic centers.- Work closely with the Center Co-Directors to identify strategic opportunities, collaborations, and activities in support of the Dean’s strategic plan and in line with the strategic emphasis on advocacy.- Work closely with the Center Co-Directors to develop organizational and project budgets and financial planning for long term sustainability and growth.- Work closely with Grants & Contracts Analyst to develop and monitor the Center’s budget and monitor spending.- Lead the Center’s project management process.- Coordinate the Center’s talent management and HR processes with Departmental and Central HR.- Serve as a technical resource for staff to elevate, advance, and strengthen system and administrative knowledge.- Implement strategic decisions in the Administration of the Center’s activities.- Lead Internal Communication activities, including writing twice monthly update letter, planning and leading twice monthly staff meetings and weekly leadership team meetings.- Coordinate regular engagement with the Center core and affiliated Faculty Affiliates.

• Led process improvement initiatives based on staff identified needs that increased efficiency and led to minimum of $75,000 in yearly cost savings• Identify, analyze, recommend, and execute improvements to optimize operations, administration, human resources, finance, public health programs, and knowledge management• Identify potential opportunities and partners to leverage technology in support of CCP's Mission and internal operations• Developed a human resources database using OnBase to manage information for non-US staff, streamlining the hiring process• Achieved a seamless transition for over 700 people across 4 languages from Dropbox, Google Drive, and other document storage to OneDrive• Migrated email from different email clients to JHU email system for over 500 people, including managing training and support.

• Operations and program management for Unitaid-funded social science research project on bringing a new spatial repellent to the donor market• Leads the internal organization and external communication for U.S President's Malaria Initiative-funded malaria project, VectorWorks, including knowledge management strategy development, annual and semi-annual reports, student supervision, country lead for Zimbabwe portfolio, and consultant management• Managed Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Measurement, Learning & Evaluation (MLE) project sub-recipient award, including extensive collaboration with project partners, supervision of full-time staff and students• Led CCP's social science component within winning consortium for $33 million Unitaid proposal• Created procedures manual for VectorWorks project; seen as gold standard for manuals throughout the organization• Coordinated production of five years of work plans and polished semi-annual and annual reports for over ten PMI countries and large core portfolio• Led effort to standardized processes and procedures at organization resulting in successful internal employee website• Oversaw completion of several videos including bed net distribution in Tanzania and family planning in urban areas• Conceptualized and launched a comprehensive toolkit in French and English on continuous mosquito net distribution for malaria prevention
