CurrentPartners for Justice is changing the national landscape of public defense to ensure every person who faces criminal charges is met with wraparound support. We embed trained non-attorney Client Advocates inside public defender offices to work directly with clients and we help public defenders implement more collaborative practice and systems. Since 2018, PFJ has grown from a two-site pilot to partnering with more than 20 county and state public defense agencies across the country. We have leveraged over $10 million in governmental funding for public defense, directly served over 10,000 people facing criminal charges, and supported defense teams to reduce clients' exposure to incarceration by thousands of days.
