Based on the water in Croatia on a yacht, over the course of 6 weeks, we held an intense training program. When the Hostess Manager was not on the water, I was the lead trainer responsible for managing the budget and other instructors. Aspiring hostesses had to pass both a theory and practical components to become a QD hostess. Throughout the week, as an instructor, we mentored, provided constant feedback, taught practical cooking workshops, and ultimately we were responsible for providing the individuals pass/fail feedback at the end of the week. Once hostesses were trained, I was the Lead Hostess on the water. I have been a Lead Hostess since 2015. As a Lead Hostess, I was the first point of contact on the water for the Hostess Manager. I handled any guest complaints, hostess complaints and passed on any important information. I held meetings when necessary, and provided each hostess with a performance rating every week. This rating was based on their crew management, menu and overall performance for the week. I was responsible for up to 15 Hostesses each week. Task during the week included assisting event staff to ensure events ran smoothly, provisioning for a boat of 12, ensuring guests had the best experience possible, planning all activities, transfers, and reservations for guests, ensuring all requests from guests were taken care of and ultimately making sure all aspects of the week ran smoothly. Most importantly, I worked together with my Skipper and other staff members to ensure the success of the week, where clear communication and the adaptability to working with different cultures was key.
