Primary responsibilities include supporting two client groups in developing, managing, implementing and integrating people strategies, programs and guidelines in support of business and organisational objectives. This includes building leadership capability, employee relations, performance management and engagement with Centres of Excellence (COEs) in the areas of compensation and benefits, organisational development, staffing, training, integration of diversity and inclusion and career coaching.

Project role support a change transformation project to review CGU's operating model which included organisation re-design and restructuring and associated people impacts.

Responsible for the review and renegotiation of the IAG Enterprise Agreement for the Australian businesses of IAG including Direct Insurance (NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC), CGU Insurnace, Swann Insurance and Corporate Office.

Responsible for shaping the Employee Relations, Remuneration & Benefits and OH&S direction for CGU. Also responsible for leading a team of six subject matter experts across the 3 portfolios to create and implement specialist people strategies, frameworks, policies and procedures nationally that support the achievement of the broader CGU people strategy.

Responsible for leading a team of 4 subject matter experts in employee and industrial and employee relations who provide advice and support to all business units in Australia. A key feature of the role was managing key stakeholders that related to the employment relationship at IAG including the Finance Sector Union (FSU) and the group's preferred legal providers for human resources.

The role was responsible for providing expert employee relations and employment law advice and assistance to line managers and HR business partners. The role also required coaching and development of Workforce Relations specialists in the team and representing the company in industrial tribunals for grievances, unfair dismissals and award and enterprise agreement matters. The role was also required to regularly deal with external stakeholders including the Finance Sector Union (FSU) on employment issues

Responsible for providing specialist support and advice to business unit managers, HR Managers and consultants in employee relations, industrial relations and employment law issues such as termination of employment, employment contracts and award and enterprise agreement interpretation. The role was also required to represent the Company in disciplinary matters at industrial commissions and tribunals and work with legal providers in the management of employee litigation.
