Rebecca Tuynman is a Director of Education at Ryman Arts. She possess expertise in art, teaching, arts administration, museums, public speaking and 14 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Rebecca was a terrific Program Supervisor, continuously inspiring in us the ability to think creatively about our roles as interns. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm encouraged us in all of our responsibilities and made coming to LACMA exciting and rewarding. Both within the structure of the program and in the years since, I have found Rebecca to be a role model and mentor who always has motivational words and wise insights. They respond to her in the way kids will when they spot that “good” teacher. One of the most outstanding programs she created for the Museum was during a presidential election year when she developed a highly interactive class about presidential ads. It had all the bells and whistles – experts from the worlds of politics and journalism speaking to teens, an exciting clip reel of TV ads from Eisenhower to Bush, and a chance for students to plot out their own ads using the techniques of persuasion Rebecca so carefully introduced with the clip tape. It was a pleasure to teach this timely class with Rebecca. I think I learned as much as the kids did. It was really something to be proud of."
