Associate professor at Ball State. My passion for coaching and inspiring young women to work hard to be the best volleyball player they could be lead me to an opportunity to be an instructor at a community college. Since my first summer in the classroom I knew I'd found my life's work. Being a professor is a lot like being a coach, you are just coaching the brain instead of the body. I love my job as a professor because I get to continue to educate myself and push myself to learn more. While at the same time, I have the extraordinary opportunity to be an influence in so many young people's lives every semester; it is a very unique position that I truly value and am passionate about. I have the privilege of teaching several different classes at Ball State University. I teach at the graduate and undergraduate level in all formats. For undergraduates I can teach almost any course, Marketing Research & Analytics, Principals of Marketing, Social Media Marketing, & Retailing. For graduate students in BSU's MBA program, ranked 15th in U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 “Best Online Programs” and proudly named our MBA as a Military Friendly program in 2019 by Viqtory. In that program Marketing Management, Customer Relationship Management, and Introduction to Healthcare Administration. In Summer 2017 I had the unique opportunity to teach an MBA course in Afghanistan for Kabul University. In summer of 2024 I co-lead a group of students on a study abroad where we explored the Iconic Industries of Italy through the Lens of Marketing & Management. I'm looking forward to my next study abroad adventure. My work has been published in Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Personal Sales & Sales Management, Academy of Marketing Science Review, Marketing Education Review, and Journal of the Academy of Business Education. I strive to stay actively involved with the academic community by serving on the Board of Governors, Executive Committee, and as Program Chair in 2021 for the Society for Marketing Advances, by serving as a guest editor for MER and JMTP in 2021, serving on several editorial review boards, being an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals, and by attending and presenting my work at various conferences."Hope is the function of struggle — we develop hope not during the easy or comfortable times, but through adversity & discomfort." Executive Team Leader Of Human ResourcesTarget Sep 2009 - Aug 2010While working at Target I learned a lot about my self and how to manage and grow talented employees. Target is a great company to work for/with. I really enjoyed learning about the various processes and managing styles. My team was over 100 employees and our store generated over 1 billion annually.While in roll, I was able to turn a "red" work center in to a "bright green" one. For those of you who are not familiar with Target lingo, red is very bad and green is good. My work center went from being last in the district to number one. I was also one of three out of 77 to be green across the board in my work center metrics. I take a lot of pride in that. However, I know that without the support of my boss and my peers none of that would have been possible!I also had the opportunity to work closely with Make-A-Wish in Louisville, KY to help put on the largest volunteer event for them in their region. With their help I was able to get almost 200 TargeTeers to work at HullabaLOU 2010. The TargeTeers came from 11 different stores from Louisville, Evansville, Elizabethtown, KY, Cincinnatt, OH, Nashville, TN and Clarksville, IN. It was a great event and all the feedback that I received was really positive!If you think you are interested in working for Target, contact me!
