Technology Integration Instructor, Specialist & Math/Literacy Coach

Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area

My responsibilities include designing and presenting professional training for educators and providing one-on-one coaching. I present educational programs in a remote format (totally online or hybrid). In my role as instructional technology integration specialist, I support teachers as they learn to use available technology to improve their instructional delivery and engage learners. I mentor teachers as they work to develop engaging and meaningful lessons that revolve around the 4 Cs of 21st Century skills: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. As we work to integrate the 4 C’s into daily and unit lessons plans, our focal point is how the use of technology will impact student learning. I custom design Google and/or iPad training sessions for schools based on their specifications. Many of the tools in Google Drive, as well as web-based instructional apps, help teachers target standards and make lessons more interactive. Assisting teachers in their understanding of state standards as well as how to successfully apply the best practices of instructional technology is a major component of my work. In each classroom coaching setting, I have seen how appropriate and creative uses of instructional technology make teaching and learning more engaging and effective. Schools that have made the investment of providing Google Chromebooks and iPads are looking for ways to help teachers and students maximize their use and prepare students for the future. I have found that teachers want to use technology more effectively, but just need more training, time, practice, and support. My job has been to make the most of the training time they are allotted.
