I love learning and I love helping. These two characteristics equip me to do what I love. My latest project, promoting CONNEX Michigan, an online Supplier B2B Platform connecting Michigan manufacturers. It's enabled me to be a convener for relationships, connecting needed procurement with capable domestic suppliers! As a researcher, I deliver targeted, actionable data and analysis to inform strategic business decisions. Clients use my research to expand product and service offerings, serve new industries, connect with warm leads, integrate new technologies, and create jobs. In addition to serving clients in this way, I have developed skills while serving my community, that enhance my work with Michigan's manufacturers. I have developed Business Planning, Coaching, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Team Building, Training, and Public Speaking skills. I have been privileged to work for over 25 years at The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (The Center), which provides Michigan’s small and medium-sized manufacturers with operational assessments, process improvement training, consulting services, website and digital assistance, and market diversification tactics. The Center is the Michigan affiliate of the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Commerce. As a member of the NIST MEP Network, The Center also provides market research services to the National Center for Economic Gardening (NCEG), the Edward Lowe Foundation’s System for Integrated Growth (SIG), and MilTech. Researching on behalf of these national organizations provides me with unique experiences and perspectives I bring to my work with Michigan manufacturers.NCEG and SIG offer support for second-stage companies to thrive and grow. Market research is only one of several options for coaching and mentoring. Focus Areas include strategic growth, market research, HR, Operations, Global Trade, Marketing, Supply Chain, Succession Planning, and more. MilTech is a Department of Defense (DOD) Technology Transition Partnership Intermediary and operates via a Partnership Intermediary Agreement between Montana State University and DOD agencies. MilTech taps the MEP Network to provide technology scouting and market research. These projects are rewarding because they support our warfighters and others who protect and serve our country.
