A passionate marine scientist, educator and communicator, with over 8 years experience in outreach, stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications, scientific research and writing.I am interested in all aspects of nature conservation and biodiversity, with a particular passion for marine biology. I hugely enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others and have actively focused my career on engagement, communications and education. My career ambition is to continue to play an active role in marine conversation through effective engagement, communications and training.I have an MSc by Research in Biological Sciences and a high 2:1 in a Zoology with honors degree from the University of Exeter. I was awarded School Commendations for outstanding contribution to the Bioscience Department in Outreach. I have had several scientific papers now published, including as first author in highly influential scientific journals.Through my professional and voluntary career, I have developed my ability to conduct research, use social media effectively, produce influential content and educate environmental information to a range of ages. I am an enthusiastic person and show dedication, commitment, and determination in every opportunity I am given and have been described as having a "can do" attitude.I am currently work for the Cefas as the Engagement Officer where I am spearheading the engagement strategy to ensure that we are communicating and engaging effectively with our stakeholders, local communities and future aquatic scientists.
