If you are looking for a team member who will go the extra mile, I am a three-time award winning student athlete and have successfully run three marathons. I bring the same endurance and focus to my work that I have previously brought to athletics.I consider myself a lifelong learner with a strong sense of curiosity. I was previously a head volleyball coach at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) and a high school biology teacher at Garinger High School, where I was able to combine my passion for biochemistry and education with my skills in STEM. I joined Teach For America North Carolina in May 2021 as a corps member, and I was lucky enough to teach science and inspire students to pursue STEM careers the following two years. I graduated from California State University, Chico with a BS in Biochemistry in December 2020. I played volleyball there at the NCAA division II level. My core competencies include educational leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. My mission has been to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for my students and athletes, and to help them achieve their academic and athletic goals. However, I am looking to apply my current skills in a new way, outside the realm of education.
