I prioritize insightful questioning, multiple perspectives, and rigorous inquiry, drawing on my ethnographic research and international background to bring to light dimensions and solutions that may be less visible. I further recognize the importance of effective, authentic communication in building trust, ensuring accountability, and inspiring change. This approach has allowed me to succeed in a range of work environments:● LEAD AND MANAGE PROJECTS AND PEOPLE I have served in multiple leadership and management roles. Most recently, as Chair of the Inclusive Team and now the History Department at Cate School, I adopted a strategic approach and built stronger workflow and communication systems while cultivating productive relationships and faculty confidence. My success in doing so is reflected in consistent, positive upward reviews. ● FACILITATE LEARNING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT I’ve designed and taught courses to multicultural students from high school to college and to professionals in the military and diplomatic core. In addition, I have applied my deep understanding of pedagogical best practices to create effective and engaging professional development workshops and resources for educators.● TRANSFORM VISION AND RESEARCH INTO MEASURABLE ACTION I am able to move from vision to research to implementation with identifiable outcomes. In the realm of DEI, I took a challenging area to define – inclusive teaching – and developed benchmarks, timeframes, process, policies, and training that resulted in measurable successes.● RESPOND TO THE SHIFTING NEEDS OF THE MOMENTAs a consultant for Air Staff at the Pentagon and on projects for the US Dept. of Homeland Security, I shifted ideation and pitches to meet changing national security needs. I also helped evolve Cate’s learning management and professional growth IT systems, and I have led and coordinated crisis and bias responses.Overall, I value a strengths-based approach and iterative process in moving projects and people from “big ideas” to structure, clarity, and implementation while always holding the human experience at the center. I am inspired by opportunities that allow me to envision, learn, and problem-solve in new and creative ways. Indeed, I appreciate the ability to pivot toward challenge, and I do my best work when I am able to move between innovation, design, and implementation and can lead or contribute to collaborative teams.
