It’s one thing to coordinate, collaborate, and manage, it’s another thing to lead. While I can manage processes and projects through to completion, I’m also a practitioner in the art of communication and relationship building. Although knowledge is important, it takes wisdom to apply that knowledge in a manner that not only fulfills the mission, but benefits the organization, develops its people, and prospers the individual. That is leadership. My collaboration skills allow me build alliances and to engage leadership to support, overcome barriers, and to communicate the impact of the overall program. I also bring strong community relations and connection skills, something which comes naturally and is also an outcome stemming from a record of success developing and executing programs that have been well received. My interest in integrating the library into the fabric of the community draws me to actively identify and develop ways to make the facility more accessible, compelling, and become an enriching experience for all ages. By building strategic alliances with other libraries, businesses, government organizations and agencies, I helped to transform our local presence into a regional influencer. Knowing today’s youth are tomorrow’s patrons, I build our future patron base by generating value for our young participants through fun and stimulating programs that help develop academic and social skills in an enjoyable setting. My personal mission as a library services leader is to secure a place in the hearts of the public by fostering safe, inclusive, and enriching experiences across the diverse spectrum of society. To that end, here are some of my career home-runs so far:★ Achieved 100% Donation Rate and Tripled Average Minimum Contribution.★ Unified 3 Other Local Libraries to Pool Resources, Coordinate, and Deliver Enriched Programs. ★ Focused on Targeting Programs for Growth, Such as Kid’s Klub Story Time, and Developed 2020 Summer Reading Program – Online.★ Shifted Library Paradigm from “Quiet Please” to Interactive. ★ Provided Input to Meet Needs in New Library Facility.★ Youth Program Attendance Rose 58%If you’re a like-minded professional and would like to share ideas, stories, or opportunities, I would love to join your network! Youth Services LibrarianWilberg Memorial Public Library Of Osceola Aug 2015 - Sep 2023Osceola, Wisconsin, United StatesA library can be more than a book repository and quiet space, it can be a focal point for the community. In exercising my belief, I focused on expanding the influence and impact of our facility. I used collaborative leadership to partner with a spectrum of community organizations and internal stakeholders and develop substantive programs that generated new interest, appeal, and use. To ensure a culture of continuous improvement, I performed in-depth research to identify new learning methods, emerging trends and ideas for change. Check out these outcomes:Innovation• Built a potent response to the pandemic by creating an online summer learning program and book ordering system.• Enhanced early literacy development by researching and designing a story time plan template.• Kept the library top-of-mind by thinking outside the box to transform a need into an opportunity and creating an attention-getting display to care for a 4’ Python.Program Leadership• Implemented new learning opportunities in science by building programs around STREAM kits including 3D pens, Cricut cutting plotter, programmable Legos, microscope, magnetic science kit, and Snap Circuit kit.• Enhanced program variety and quality by partnering with schools and other organizations.• Helped produce new interest and participation at 54 libraries in the system.Driving Patronage• Reinforced awareness by utilizing the drawing power of social media, such as TikTok, to inform, generate interest, and engage the public.• Performed readers advisory services to parents of “reluctant readers.” Expanding Outreach• Enhance accessibility and promote programs by creating informational and how-to videos that promote programs. • Broadened outreach by partnering with 3 other local libraries to institute large scale events.

Interim Library DirectorWilberg Memorial Public Library Of Osceola Jan 2019 - Jun 2019Osceola, Wisconsin, United StatesWith this golden opportunity, I shared my vision and unleashed my passion to change the library and enhance its mission by seamlessly filling a critical leadership vacuum and taking the organization forward with new ideas and programs. As a smaller part of the greater whole, I realized that ideas are only the beginning. What was also essential was gaining buy in and cooperation from adjoining organizations and that took relationship building and intentional communication. With a more holistic approach, I transformed business relationships and created harmony with key city organizations by leveraging our shared-space, multi-use building to create win-win solutions. Here are some other highwater marks I achieved in only 6 months during this immersive leadership experience:• Developed and wrote policies and procedures to optimize shared spaces that transformed apprehension into cooperation to the benefit of the community at large. • Streamlined meeting room reservation processes and eliminated conflict by customizing scheduling software (DemcoSpaces) to fit the needs of multiple organizations on a single platform.• Ensured transparent financial performance by working with finance manager to manage budget spending.

InternRamsey County Historical Society May 2013 - Aug 2013St. Paul, MnTo round off my education goals, I assisted with the mission of this organization by applying learned concepts in research, archiving, and cataloging artifacts. Attention-to-detail and diligence were the order of the day as I transcribed a range of documents and entered data into PastPerfect database. Entering this important information was crucial to the work of the Historical Society. I also performed exhaustive research to identify historical photographs by analyzing the image and researching clues such as landmarks, streets, buildings, etc., to help identify events, settings, persons of interest and more.
