I wear at least two hats – I’m a writer, editor and translator. I also have 23 years’ experience in English Language Teaching, mainly in universities around London, but also online. In addition, I have worked in the museum and heritage sector, mainly on the education side, for eight years. Recent editing experience includes substantively editing a memoir for a non-fiction author and editing web copy for a firm of solicitors in Marbella (which required a working knowledge of Spanish).I also write press features, clients including the Times Higher Education Supplement and Museum Practice. In 2016 I published a non-fiction work 'Curiosities from the Cabinet: Objects and Voices from Britain's Museums'.I'm a member of Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (intermediate level).I managed label writing for new galleries at Reading University's Museum of English Rural Life and helped develop the curriculum for the museum’s training programme for PhD students in collections-based research. I also had a coordinating role on a JISC-funded online educational materials project and co-designed the curriculum for the Reading University’s Museum Studies BA degree. Before that I worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum for four years initiating and managing collaborative educational projects.I have co-edited and/or contributed to three books for museum and university professionals published by Ashgate in 2010, 2013 and 2015, been published in peer-reviewed journals and spoken at national and international conferences.
