As the Environment Chief, my duties here are as;• Following, implementing and keeping up to date 14001 Environmental Management System ( yes, we got a certificate from BSI company :) )• Hazardous, Non-hazardous, Medical waste management • Conducting of the environmental management studies acting as a project leader• Managing of environmental risks, defining preventive actions• Organizing trainings to increase environmental awareness of the personnel• Establishment and implementation of zero waste system• Following environmental legislation, evaluating compliance with new legislation and controlling changes,• Determining environmental targets and creating a roadmap• Analysis of Life Cycle• Carrying out Carbon Footprint studies (we are still in the calculation phase)• Participating in internal and external audits as an ISO 9001, 14001 internal auditor.

I carried out the control of the recycling activities of the district, the realization of projects to increase the amount of waste, and the training in district schools under the Sultangazi Municipality Directorate of Environmental Protection and Control.I also dealt with the official procedures and statements of the Non-Hazardous Waste Separation facility. In this context, I dealt with the management of the waste collection trucks and waste collection personnel owned by the facility.I think an Environmental engineer should understand recycling best. Therefore, working in the recycling facility showed me the importance of waste management and its place in social life very well._________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Sultangazi Belediyesi Çevre Koruma ve Kontrol Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı olarak ilçenin geri dönüşüm faaliyetlerinin kontrolü, atık miktarlarının artırılmasına yönelik projelerin gerçekleştirilmesi, ilçe okullarında eğitimin verilmesi gibi faaliyetleri icra ettim.Ayrıca Tehlikesiz Atık Ayırma tesisinin resmi işlemleri ve beyanlarıyla ilgilendim. Bu kapsamda yine tesisin sahip olduğu atık toplama kamyonları ve atık toplama personelinin sevk ve idaresini gerçekleştirdim.Bir Çevre mühendisinin, geri dönüşümü en iyi anlaması gerektiğini düşünüyorum. Dolayısıyla, geri dönüşüm tesisinde çalışmak bana atık yönetiminin önemini ve sosyal hayattaki yerini çok iyi bir şekilde gösterdi.
