An independent filmmaker, I've produced, funded, and edited award winning documentaries for public television, museums, and other educational and cultural institutions. I have an MFA degree with a concentration in both film studies and the art of filmmaking. I have twenty years of experience as a producer for Prairie Public Television, extensive experience in cross-cultural filmmaking and advocacy and in community engagement and creative place-making. "The Butterfly Effect," my most recent film, was part of a larger project of community engagement and environmental awareness that involved the collaboration and support of diverse organizations including the USFW Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, the Kaddatz Gallery, Springboard for the Arts and the Fergus Falls Public Library. It received a Minnesota Legacy grant, was a featured program at the Rural Arts and Culture Summit, and was broadcast on public TV as well as winning an Outstanding Awards from Without Borders Film Festival and a Silver Spotlight Award. As a documentary producer, I've done commissions for the National Park Service, for the Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center, the Rourke Art Museum, and Prairie Public TV. My work is included in the collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Plains Art Museum, the Minnesota Historical Society, and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.I've taught film theory and practice at the college level. I've exhibited photographs at the Plains Art Museum, Kaddatz Gallery, Creative Art Studio, Rourke Art Museum, Spirit Room, Minneapolis Center for Photography, and Flow Art Space.
